Parabens are a class of chemicals used as preservatives by the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries to work against the growth of bacteria and fungus in their products. They can be commonly found in body creams, conditioners, shampoos, deodorants, personal lubricants, shaving gels, makeup and toothpaste. Parabens are even found in foods as additives.
